Amazing!!!! Don’t you think?

Fundamental Ingredients of A Quality Website

Before we get into the key ingredients that are needed to build a successful website, you need to know that when you start up a website, its needs to have a place where it is “stored” and “maintained”

What do I mean by this?

This is called “web hosting.” It is simply a place whereby your website is kept so that when people visit it, it will be opened up in quick a time as possible and the website will run smoothly.

The last thing that you need is to have people come onto your site and find it takes years to load. This puts them off and eventually they click on that “x” and boom! you lost your visitors.

We will talk more about web hosting later. For now here is what I think your site needs to get off onto a good start.

  1. Professional Appearance
  2. Easy Navigation around your site
  3. Quick Loading Time
  4. Quality and Engaging Content

Amongst the above, you going to need a good structural framework to support all the helpful and quality content that you are going to write about.how to build a successful website

For this I would recommend WordPress. It has been around for years and this very site that you are on is built upon wordpress. Its easy to use, and there is a host of themes to choose from.

For now, the important thing is to get you started, so don’t worry too much about the themes. Once we get you up and running, you can change themes till your hearts content.

Lets get Started! Enter a domain name of your choosing in the box below and then Click on the BUILD IT NOW! button. Once you done this, you have just got your very own WordPress WEBSITE!!!!

Why use WORDPRESS?

As I mentioned before, word press is a system that is going to manage your content.

Around 10years back, people created their websites and had to use coding whilst building their websites. HTML is the language or coding that forms the basis of any website right up till today.

These days things are made much easier that you do not need to learn this code and anyone can start building a great site using word press. Beside no HTML, or any advanced knowledge not needed to build a site, here are other benefits of using word press.

  1. Hey Roopesh!
    This post was great!!!
I’m just starting my own website and it can be overwhelming, so it was very clarifying the part you talked about what is fundamental for a quality website. I will make sure I follow your advice on that! Do you have any advice on how to structure the website? I find it a bit confusing to find out the best places to put the things around for a better navigation.
    Thank you so much!

      Thanks for the compliment

I wish you all the best in building your site. Remember, take it one step at a time and do not rush into completing anything.

Regarding the structure or navigation of your site, I have one piece of advice….KEEP IT SIMPLE.

Do not make it confusing for your reader on where to go or what to do next. Make it easy and simple. They will stick to your site longer and read what you have to say.

      All the best

  3. Hi, this is a good text, I like the way you describe the process of building a site. But this story about 30 seconds for building a site always looked strange to me. Nobody can build a site in 30 seconds. After 14 months I feel I still do not have a proper site. You are right about WordPress, this is an open source tool, liked by Google, and very user friendly. Thank you.

    • Hi Jovo

      Thanks for that comment.

Yes, I agree with you that no one can build a complete site in 30seconds. That is certainly not possible. However, you get your framework and domain name for your site in this timeframe.

After that, it’s about building your site by adding content that is quality and engaging. Using word press makes things so much easier and as you said it is very user friendly.

      Thanks for visiting.

  6. Hi Roopesh,

Great post! One of the issues I had was choosing a theme out of the many options on WordPress, but I think if you can visualize what you want your site to look like, this process would be a lot easier. Sometimes all the choice in the world can actually be a burden rather than an advantage! Do you agree?

    Reply
    • Hello Irvan
Now that is something I can agree with.
When I built my first site, I had no idea what theme to go for.

What helped me as you said, was to have some sort of picture in your mind of what you would want your site to look like.

The best part is even after choosing a theme and you not happy, you can always change it.

      Thanks for stopping by.

  7. Hey, there.

Informative article. I enjoyed the read. The 4 aspects you mentioned here are what make a successful and a profitable website these days.

Appearance and a great UX for your readers are what you should work on when you have the time. Fast access to your pages will make a significant difference regarding your readership. Slow loading sites are a pain, and fewer people have the patience to wait for your content to appear.

Lastly, providing high quality and engaging content is what your visitors will come looking for. If you managed to craft this, your business will be in good shape.

Great job with this post. Keep it up.

I think that everyone that lands here on your post has the same goal: build a successful website and become an authority on the content they are writing about. I like how you laid out the fundamentals in four key points. I’d like to know, what do you feel is the biggest barrier or roadblock to a successful business, in your opinion?

    Cheers!

    • Hi Brandon

      Sorry for the late reply.

In my opinion, I find that is the biggest barrier, is the “challenge of the mind” to do something different. I know that once my mind is set on going forward, the physical efforts will follow through.

      Thanks for the question.

  10. Really interesting article. I did not know you can build a website for free I thought you always had to pay high prices. Do you need much technical knowledge to use the siterubix and wordpress software? The templates on wordpress sound fantastic, that will save a lot of time to have a base to start from and alter as I go.
    Thanks Louise

    • Hi Louise

      Thank you for your comment.

That’s what I thought when I first started off as well. If you decide to outsource the development of your website, things like content writing, site layout and image display, etc then this can end up costing you a substantial amount in the end.

If however, you take your time and choose a great training platform and go through the lessons step by step, then process of building a successful website can be both exciting and less taxing on the pocket

And you can get to choose from range of word press themes.

      Thanks for stopping by

  11. Hi, Roopesh!

This was a great read for sure. Building a “successful website” is key. Anybody can build a website but, monetizing it is what counts. That’s where a thorough education is in order. Agreed?

It really suprises me to see so many people actually try to do something new without an education. I’ve seen it many times, and the outcome is always disastrous.

Then it comes down to a choice. Quit, or get educated.

Yep, I’m one of those Wealthy Affiliate guys. I chose an education, because “quit” isn’t in my vocabulary.

    Keep up the good work.

    • Hey Forrest

      Agree with you 100%

Monetizing the site is what counts and to do that requires a solid education and training.

As you said, without the proper education and tools, the progress of building a successful website will not go very far.

I am glad to you hear that you are a member of Wealthy Affiliate, you are certainly in good hands and with hard work , you can only go up!!!

  13. I have tried building a website using Wix and had a hard time with it. Of course all those television commercials made me think that this was the best site builder available but once I started I had a hard time getting things to line up correctly.

I heard that you can use WordPress and get hosting within Wealthy Affiliate. Do you recommend doing this? Does Wealthy Affiliate provide any training to use WordPress because I was very limited on training for Wix, which is probably why I was so bad at it.

    Reply
    • Hello James

It’s only through trial and error that we learn. Guess Wix was your trial, but with WA it can be much different of an experience.

Wealthy Affiliate offers you free hosting with your sites. You can get up to 25sites! Gosh. I am busy with two and find my hands filled to the brim.

Anyways with regards to training on your Word press, Wealthy Affiliate in my opinion is all you will ever need to get it started. From content writing, to SEO, to proper use of images and monetizing and much more, its the place you want to be to build a successful website.

      Hope this helps.

If you need to know anything else, do not hesitate to ask.

  14. I read you’re post and you seem to know your way around affiliate marketing.

The way you explained web hosting was very clear too.
The way I explain it is your website is like a house and hosting is like land. You can’t have a house with no land.

You don’t want to have land(hosting) and no house(website) either. You need both for everything to go smoothly.

I enjoyed reading your article. Keep up the good work.

I see your analogy and that makes a lot of sense as well. You can’t have the website or Domain name exists on its own without any hosting.

I think by starting on word press is a great way to learn your skills as the platform is easy to modify and work with. Honestly, great for blogs but for design are there any platforms would you recommend?

Thanks for the question, and to be really honest with you, I am familiar most with the WordPress platform than any of the others. If you are interested in knowing more about one of the others, like Joomla or Wiz, let me know, I can get you in touch with someone.

  19. Great information on the benefits of Wealthy Affiliate! I too have used this platform to build my first site and for someone with no knowledge going in how to do this, I amazed myself! Thanks to all the training and assistance from the WA community, the process was not daunting at all. You mentioned that even if you started out with one WordPress theme, it was possible to change to another. The thoughts of attempting this scares me a bit. Any suggestions?

    • Hi Ann
Yes, Wealthy Affiliate does an excellent job of taking folks with no experience in online business, right up to the point of building a solid online business with great potential for years to come.

It can certainly seem scary when you want to change themes. However, WA backs your site up daily and if you change your theme and find it a wreck, simply contact their support team(tell them your story) and you will be on the road in no time.

One piece of advice, I would try changing the theme during the early stages when my site is still in the pioneer stages.

      Hope this helps
