WHAT IS LISTVERSE ALL ABOUT?
Listverse.com is a simple idea. The site features only 'top 10' articles and covers different topics.
According to the site, Listerverse.com serves over "30 million pages a month to more than eight million readers."
The purpose of these articles is to intrigue and educate. The site has featured on various radio stations, news media, and social networking sites.
Apparently, they publish around three articles every day.
I must admit it's a site that I could spend a great deal of my time. There are so many categories, that you will be spoilt for choice.
You can indulge in anything from bizarre, entertainment, to general knowledge, lifestyle and science, and society.

The owners of the site give anyone the opportunity to earn some cash by submitting their own original top 10 lists. You have to meet the criteria though. But I will chat about that shortly.
For now, let's take a look at who the owners are.
WHO IS THE OWNER OF LISTVERSE
The chief editor and founder of Listverse is Jamie Frater.

He started his life as a software developer and then moved to London to do postgraduate studies in opera at the Royal College of Music.
Listverse.com was created out of his desire to want to share fascinating, obscure, and bizarre facts.
The other person who is chiefly involved with the running of Listverse is Judy Richardson. She serves as the moderator on the platform.
It's great to see that this site has owner transparency. Now let's take a look at how you can potentially make money with Listverse.
HOW TO MAKE MONEY WITH LISTVERSE?
It's free to sign up with Listverse. The other cool part is that there are no forms or lengthy procedures that you would have to follow in order to register with them.
All that you will really need to qualify, are two important things. The first is that you need to be fluent in the English language- equal to that of a native speaker, and you should have a love for "things unusual and interesting."
Secondly, you need to have a Paypal account.
Apparently, they will pay you $100 per list that you submit. Your list needs to be 10 items at a minimum. It also needs to have at least two or three paragraphs detailing each item on that list.
You are not to duplicate the content from other sites. You will also need to provide proof by citing reputable sources. Most importantly the material that you submit must be original and as such should not be found anywhere else on the internet.
They will not approve posts that deal with sports, technology, or self-advice.
Sounds a bit challenging, doesn't it?
It is possible to earn $100?
Let's take a look at the reviews of some of the folks who have tried to get content published on Listverse.com
LISTVERSE CUSTOMER COMPLAINTS OR COMPLIMENTS?
Unfortunately, there were no testimonials or reviews available on the actual website or on their social media platforms.
So I turned to third-party review sites and forums to see what the general consensus is.
At Trustpilot.com, there were only two reviews both of which were bad.

The one reviewer submitted an article and still has not yet received any feedback. The other reviewer claims that he has waited for 25 days and still not received his money.
Then at Sitejabber, the reviews were also very poor.

One reviewer labeled the platform as "garbage journalism" and a "run-off-the-mill-site"
Another reviewer found the staff at Listverse, to be "rude and inconsiderate."
My research did not end here. I went to a question and answer forum called Quora to see what folks had to say there.
"Has anyone been paid by Listverse? " This is one of the questions that was posted within the Quora Platform.
There were negative answers here as well, but this time there was some positive answers too.

This writer felt that Listverse is a great site to write for. She believes that it is a challenge, but once you get past the editor then you should be fine.
So, is Listverse a scam?
Before I give you my verdict, let's take a look at the pros and cons of this opportunity.
WHAT I LIKE ABOUT LISTVERSE
They have a huge FaceBook following. Close to 149 000 people.
Registration is free.
They accept Paypal.
WHAT I DO NOT LIKE ABOUT LISTVERSE
Lots of customer complaints.
No testimonials on the website.
No proof of payment on their FaceBook page.
Only limited to certain countries namely the US, UK, NZ, Ireland, Canada, Australia, and South Africa.
This is not a passive income business opportunity.
IS LISTVERSE A SCAM? MY PERSONAL OPINION
Is Listverse legit? I think that regarding Listverse, it is a bit difficult to give a straight-forward answer.
During my research, I learned that some folks have submitted more than three or four articles on occasion only to be denied their work to be published.
There is no doubt that the rules and policies are very strict at Listverse. Of the hundreds of submissions they receive, they only select a few. Their standards I believe are pretty high and their review process is complicated
I have noted that the site does update with new content on a regular basis.
It would be nice though to hear from people who have actually gotten paid from Listverse.
Perhaps a testimonial section on their website would be sufficient. This in my opinion would encourage writers to keep trying and not giving up.
Let's face it. Nobody likes all of their hard work to go unnoticed. In this case, you might spend hours researching for your next topic only to be rejected and denied your $100.
Bottom Line: Listverse is a platform where you can do put in the hours, work painstakingly hard researching for your next article, but there are no guarantees that your hard work will see the light. It's a chance that you must be willing to take.
If you have free time on your hands and not banking on this for an income, then give Listverse a go. It might turn in your favor.
