WHAT IS THE VANTEL PEARLS MLM ALL ABOUT?
Joan A. Hartel is the founder and president of Vantel Pearls. The inspiration behind the business was when she gifted her niece with an oyster with a pearl inside of it.
She wanted to replicate this oyster opening experience with other women and this gave her the idea to start Vantel Pearls.
According to Joan, the mission statement is more than giving women an experience to open an oyster to find it's hidden gem. It's about discovering one's own uniqueness, just like finding a unique pearl.
For her, its about "finding the courage to try something new...." and Vantel Pearl gives women the opportunity to start their own home-based business.
The backbone of the business model is based on the traditional MLM-type structure. This means that members can earn money from selling the products directly to their family and friends as well as by recruiting members to the company.
Let's take a look at the Vantel Pearls products in a bit more detail.
THE VANTEL PEARL PRODUCTS- ARE THEY REALLY THAT DIFFERENT?
Are the Vantel Pearls jewelry pieces unique?
Their product portfolio is pretty extensive. They cover a range of different categories such as necklaces, bracelets, rings, extenders, chains, charms, earrings, and even gift certificates.
I reviewed another MLM such as Jewelry In Candles, which had quite a unique take on jewelry found in candles.
I also talked about one called Sabika Jewelry that had Swarovski crystals embedded into it.
How is Vantel Pearls different?
They also have Swarovski's.
As far as uniqueness is concerned I think that Vantel Pearls stands out when it comes to their oyster opening experience.
This is different to what I have seen in other companies. And the ladies find it quite exciting, to open a piece and discover a different pearl on the inside.
The official Vantel Pearl website does not go into much detail about the Oyster Openings.
So, I managed to find a Youtube video of a consultant, showing you what the Oyster opening experience is all about.
As far as the price of these products are concerned, I believe that they are a bit pricey.
From my experience of having reviewed multi-level marketing products, it's not unusual at all.
I have found that most of them are generally higher than what you would find in your regular stores.
Are these products really worth it? Are people happy with using Vantel Pearls products?
Let me show you what customers think in the next section.
VANTEL PEARLS COMPLAINTS- SHOULD YOU BE WORRIED?
Back in 2017, on February the 10th, a lawsuit investigation was launched into the Vantel Pearls company.
Many customers have come forward with Vantel Pearls complaints ranging from delayed shipments to poor jewelry quality.
Surprisingly though the Attorneys decided to close their investigation and did not pursue any further lawsuit action against Vantel Pearls.
The main reason for this is that at the time they believed that the company was financially unstable and "would be unable to reimburse all the class members in a successful lawsuit." The attorneys also believed that since customers suffered various grievances, it would be difficult to "define a class and calculate damages."
Does this mean that customer's complaints would fall on deaf ears?
They recommended that customers should voice their complaints with the Better Business Bureau. You can read the full story of the Vantel Pearls lawsuit here.
Upon visiting Better Business Bureau, I have found a fair amount of complaints against the company.
Some folks complained saying that the pearls were fake. Others were unhappy stating that after time the product's color started fading away. Then people were dissatisfied with the after-sales support.
Is it really worth it to purchase the Vantel Pearls products?
In all fairness, there was a small percentage of positive Vantel Pearls Reviews on the BBB site.
I think that if you are looking at purchasing products from this company, the best option would be to start small and see how it goes from there.
How does one start their own Vantel Pearls business?
Let me show you.
HOW DO YOU START A VANTEL PEARLS BUSINESS?
To get started with your business, you have to first purchase a Vantel Pearls Consultant Starter kit.
There are two options, you can either go for the :
- Easy Starter Kit with Oysters - $99, or
- The Pro Kit - $149
Unfortunately, the official Vantel Pearls website does not reveal many details on the differences between these two kits.
Whilst they have the usual jewelry pieces displayed for purchase on their website, the actual kits are not present as one of the selections.
I guess the easiest way to learn more about these starter kits, is by contacting one of the Vantel Pearls independent consultants.
Nevertheless, here is a video made by one of the members showcasing what comes in the starter kit.
To start earning as a Vantel Pearls consultant, there are various criteria that you need to meet. One of them is obviously the purchase of the kit. Here are some of the other criteria.
You need to :
- Be 18 years or older
- Be a citizen or permanent resident of the United States
- Have a valid social security number
- Read and agree to the Vantel Pearls Consultant Agreement
- Maintain a valid credit card on file
- Purchase a Vantel Pearls Consultant Starter kit
- Have three dated party bookings within the first 35 days
- Have access to the internet and have an email address
How do you make money with Vantel Pearls? They highlight within their compensation plan document that "Having parties is central to the Vantel Pearls business model."
The idea behind these ''parties' is to get guests or potential customers to view the various Vantel Pearls products first hand. According to the company, this is also an excellent opportunity to personally sponsor, enroll new members into the business and ultimately form new relationships.
As you buy products and enroll new members and they buy products, you, in turn, can qualify to receive commissions, overrides, and bonuses.
I will get into more detail into how this works in the next section.
THE VANTEL PEARLS COMPENSATION PLAN
The Vantel Pearls compensation plan is a bit complicated to understand.
However, when I studied their pay structure, I noticed a common pattern. I think that by understanding this pattern, it will be easier for you to get a better idea of how their overall comp. plan works.
First things first, I want to highlight, you do not get a commission on the selling price of the item. Instead, your commission is worked out as a percentage of the commission volume(CV) of the product.
For instance, if you were on the Star Consultant Level you would earn, 25% of their personal CV (Jewelry Sales) or 30% of the personal CV (Jewelry Sales) when your monthly personal TSV(Total Sales Volume) is $4,000 or more.
You can ascend the various ranks within the company. There are 8 Ranking Levels present within the Vantel Pearls compensation plan
- New Recruit
- Star Consultant
- Star Leader
- Executive Director
- Star Executive Director
As I mentioned earlier, there is a common pattern as you move from one rank to the next.
As you progress to the higher levels, your requirements at that level become more 'challenging'.
Let's say that that you are on the Star consultant level.
These are the Star Consultant Level Monthly requirements
- $500 or more in personal TSV per month
- $2,000 or more team TSV per month.
- 2 Personally Sponsored Active Consultants or more on 1st Level
Now check out the requirements for the next level, the Leader level
These are the Leader Level Monthly requirements
- $1,000 or more in personal TSV per month
- $4,000 or more team TSV.
- 3 Personally Sponsored Active Consultants
It works like this for the rest of the ranks.
In summary: You have to buy and sell more products, get your 'success line' to do the same, and motivate them to work hard to get to the higher levels as well.
As you may have guessed, that the commissions, overrides, and related bonuses will vary among the different levels.
I will not get into showing you all the various percentages and overrides calculations. That may make it a bit confusing.
I hope that you got the general idea as to how it all works.
Is it really worth it to join Vantel Pearls?
Before I give you my verdict, let's quickly take a look at the pros and cons of this business.
WHAT I LIKE ABOUT VANTEL PEARLS
They have a long-standing in the market. The Vantel Pearls business started back in 1985 on the 31st of December. Google Trends shows that there is a fair interest in the company over the past year.(whilst this is a good thing, it can also be a disadvantage, I'll explain later on)
Vantel Pearls is registered with the DSA(or Direct Selling Association).
They have a fairly active Facebook page.
WHAT I DO NOT LIKE ABOUT THE VANTEL PEARLS MLM BUSINESS
This is NOT a global business opportunity. You can only register as a Vantel Pearls consultant if you are over the age of 18 years. More importantly, you need to be a US Citizen to become a Vantel Pearls member.
That means that your business of trade is restricted to within the United States.
You have to spend money in order to maintain active status. To remain an active Vantel Pearls consultant, and to be eligible to earn a commission, overrides or bonuses, you have to achieve $500 or more personal Total Sales Volume (TSV) within a 2 month period.
Lots of complaints related to product quality and customer after-sales service.
The more you recruit, the more you earn. There is a strong focus on the recruiting aspect. After all, this is a multi-level marketing business. If you want to grow this sort of business, you need to get more people to sign-up, purchase products and get them to do the same and so on and so on.
IS VANTEL PEARLS A SCAM? MY PERSONAL OPINION
Making money with a long-standing MLM can be challenging. Whilst it may seem a good thing that they have been around for 35 years, it can also be not-so-good news for you as a new member.
One of the main reasons for this is that there may be lots of folks already promoting the company. Hence, as a newbie, it can be a challenge to breakthrough the tough competition. Not impossible, just not so easy.
I am not saying that you should not join them. All I am saying is first research your area and see what the consensus is before you jump all in.
If you are looking to making money with Vantel Pearls, you need to take these 3 important points into consideration.
POINT ONE: No Income Disclosure
This makes it hard to gauge how the existing members are doing. The data from an income disclosure would reveal which ranks are more commonly attained by members.
POINT TWO: Is Your Budget Flexible?
Do you buy Jewelry on a regular basis? If you are someone who buys jewelry often, perhaps Vantel Pearls may be an option.
What if you are not a seasonal Jewelry purchaser? Will you be okay with accommodating these regular purchases to maintain your active status as a member?
Bottom line : think about your budget first.
POINT THREE: What type of person are you? Salesy or not?
Can you picture yourself hosting these 'jewelry parties'on a regular basis? Are you a sociable person?
More importantly, does the idea of recruiting people excite you?.
It does not just stop at recruiting people. It also means that you have to work closely with your downline, and motivate them, inspire them and to some extent lead them.
Are you ready for these sorts of challenges?
Should these three issues not bother you, then you can give the Vantel Pearls MLM a go.
CAN YOU MAKE MONEY ONLINE WITHOUT RECRUITING?
I for one have tried the multi-level marketing business, and I admit, I failed miserably at it.
Not only did I spend a great deal of money on products, and go to seminars, but the saddest part for me is that I lost some valuable relationships in an effort to build my downline.
I am not saying that this will happen to you.Your luck could be much better than mine. You could make it a huge success.
What I am saying is that I am not one who enjoys the recruiting business.I enjoy doing a different business model called affiliate marketing.
It's different from network marketing. With affiliate marketing, you earn commissions for recommending other people's products or services via your website.
The benefit to starting an affiliate marketing business, is that you do not need any experience to start, and you do not need to recruit anyone to earn money.
Take a look at the other benefits you can enjoy from starting your own affiliate marketing business.
Thanks for joining me on this Vantel Pearls review.
I hope that it has helped you out.
