Though there are tons of ways to earn from home, which one is really right for you? Why would you choose it ? These questions, only you can answer. At the end of the article, you will have a clearer picture on how to approach home business opportunities and how to tell which one is right for you?

Are you ready to go ‘home business soul searching?’

What are the Benefits of Having a Home Based Business?

Here are some of the obvious benefits:

  • More Time with the Family
  • Financial Freedom
  • Flexibility (by being your own boss)
  • Build yourself a legacy and career of your own

These are certainly great reasons to wanting your own business, but the more burning question here would be, how badly do you really want it?

How Deep is Your Desire to Want to Work from Home?

Be Honest with yourself here.

Do you want to work from home because it’s what you ‘really’ want, or is it because of your friend or someone you’ve met, who is doing it  and its ‘appearing‘ to you like, that is what you want as well.

It’s only after you take the plunge and get involved in your home based venture, that you will find out what its ‘really’ all about. You may even wonder to yourself, ‘this is not what I imagined it to be…’

Experiences can Change Your Focus

On the flipside, circumstances can sometimes intervene, steering you into the direction of a home based business. This is kind of how my story goes…

For the past three years, I have been having a really tough time with my hearing. Some days are harder than others, but it is nevertheless an on-going challenge.Is Working from Home a Good Idea?

When I was little, I was a very sick child. There was a time when the state of my health was really critical due to a severe viral infection, and as the result of it, I suffered a complete hearing loss in my right ear. So for the rest of my life, I had to depend solely upon my left ear to communicate with the world.

Then, as I’ve mentioned above, 3 years ago I starting suffering from Tinnitus(characterized by ringing in the ears).

As a pharmacist dealing with the tinnitus ,it made it harder for me to communicate with customers at work. Fortunately, my wife, certain family members, and colleagues at work were extremely supportive and helpful. However, as time went on the hearing problem became more unbearable and I had to invest in a hearing aid.Is Working from HOME a good idea?

These circumstances pushed me into looking at other ways to earn money. Working from home became something that I began to seriously consider. So I started looking at horseracing as the way to earn money.

I know what you are all thinking! Horseracing! Is this guy nuts!?

What influenced this decision was seeing some of my friends pull out flashy cars by doing this kind of thing, and this made me think to myself, ‘I WANT A LIFE LIKE THAT.’ The plus to it would be that I don’t have to struggle to listen to people and worry about giving out the wrong advice.

Believe it or not, I never made a single dime in this so-called ‘business.’ I studied form, registered with both international and local tipsters. Hell, I even went to the tracks, but still no joy. My wife can testify to seeing me get up in the early parts of the morning just to study the papers. I was hitting against a brick wall.

Speeding things up to the 3rd year, I was fed-up. I eventually let this part go. Strange but true, once you let go of the old, you allow for new things to step in. This is what happened to me.

As I took to searching online, I came across a review of an online training platform. There were some really good reviews and since it had a Free trial, I figured, why not?

So, I gave it a shot. This is where I eventually found my peace and I knew instinctively in my heart that it was the right business for me.Is working from home a good idea

The main point here is to look at your circumstances. See what’s happening around you. If things are not working out, give it a break. Don’t rush into things, simply because everyone else is doing it, like how I did with the horseracing. When the right opportunity comes you will know it, more so, you will feel it.

3 Essential Tips when choosing the Right Home Based Business

1. Don’t think Only about the Money

Sometimes we may have things backward. We think that wherever the money is, we need to go there and we will AUTOMAGICALLY be rich. How I wish that it were the case?

The truth is rather than going after the money, find an opportunity that ‘ignites your passion,’Is working from home a good idea?

Something that gets you all excited and you find ‘you want to do it’, from the word go. Even if you don’t know much about it, the important thing is, is that it must at least capture your interest. If you are prepared to learn about the industry niche and passionately share it, chances are that people will gravitate towards your offerings. Thereafter you will find yourself receiving the flow of abundance.

I can tell you for certain that I only looked at the possible ‘dollars’ when it came to horse racing. I was under the illusion that it was a business, and worse even, I did not really have any passion or interest in it as well. So, it was doomed for failure.

Find something that has a lightheartedness to it. Something that is Fun. Who says that making money has to be done in a strict manner only! Just look at Billionaire Tycoon Richard Branson and how he runs his operations. Hell, I hardly ever saw him wear a suit, did you?

2. Find a Home Based Business with Excellent Training, Support and Mentoring From Day One

When starting out a business, whether it’s an MLM or any other operation, you don’t want to be left fending for yourself in the critical stages of the start-up process.

Wouldn’t you agree that having a so called road map guiding you would make the journey less frustrating and more exciting? So look for a model, that others have followed and succeeded with.Is working from home a good idea

Find a business whereby people within the industry are willing to share the ropes with you. If the training is broken down into easy to follow steps, this would make things so much better. Look out for these kind of things.

Life does not have to be hard. It’s we that think everything including earning money is tough.”

3.Find a Business that has a Self-Sustaining Potential

Besides the flexibility, find a business that will give you stability.

Sure you are ready to put in the time, the hard work and all the other sacrifices, but at the end of the day, you would want to invest in a business that allows you to make money without always having to be there.

What am I talking about?

You guessed it. Passive Income.

It’s a great question that you have provided some rational answers to.

I was forced to work from home due to my health. There are certainly pro’s and con’s to working from home.

For the pro’s I find that by being my own boss I am more motivated to succeed. Naturally I am able to work at my own pace and am able to dedicate much need time to my family.

Con’s are that there are often many days in a row where I don;t even leave the house, which restricts me from meeting people via face to face interaction.

I guess on the balance of things it is better in my situation to work from home – I certainly don;t have wrestle with rush hour traffic anymore :)!

      Hi There

      Thank you for your comment.

I can certainly relate to it when you say that it restricts you from human interaction. I believe that speaking to people is absolutely necessary and one needs to have some dose of it from time to time, especially when their main income is a home business.

This goes without saying that the perks of being your own boss far outweighs have a 9-5.

      Thanks for stopping by
