They service a range of industries. They also have positive feedback on third-party review sites.

The main way in which you can earn with LiveOps is by registering as a freelance call-center agent. 

You have to pay for the background check. Once you are accepted into the program, you can set your hours that you would like to take calls. 

The main drawback is that you get paid only for talk-time and not the amount of hours you block out for that particular day.

Furthermore, there is no guarantee of job availability.

LiveOps was founded in 2000 and has a physical premise in Scottsdale, Arizona. The companies CEO is Greg Hanover.

LiveOps is a virtual call center organization that offers a skilled on-demand workforce of remote call-center agents for all customer service and sales needs.

The company's main mission is "to improve people's lives." This is irrespective of whether you are an agent or a client connected to the company.

They have clients who depend on the LiveOps virtual agents to bring more experience, education, and passion to their customers.

As a LiveOps virtual agent, the most attractive feature is the flexibility is to work on one's own terms.

In 2017, the company was voted as one of Flexjobs top 100 companies to work for and 2021 Flexjobs Remote Company to Watch. They are connected with 400 organizations and across various service industries such as retail, healthcare, insurance, tax, telecom, and government.

In summary :  LiveOps basically have got the clients and they hire virtual agents to act as ambassadors for these clients by dealing with their customers.

Liveops does not offer the traditional call service agent service to their clients. According to their website, they have call-center agents who have 3 times more work experience than the traditional agents.

HOW TO JOIN LIVEOPS AS AN AGENT


Step One : Check if you are in an Eligible state

At the moment, LiveOps registration is open only to US citizens. A map on their site tells you exactly which states they are actively recruiting and which ones they are not sourcing. 

Step Two : Pay relevant fees and submit docs for a background check($45)

They use a company called Checkr to do a background check on all of their freelance staff. You would have to pay for this background and credit-check report. 

You might not be turned away from joining if you have a low credit rating. However, you will be refused to join LiveOps if  :

  • Two or more civil judgments/tax liens (excluding divorce or dissolution of marriage) within the past five years. Two or more bankruptcies.
  • Debt that is past due or in collections totaling more than $10,000 (excluding home mortgage foreclosure).
  • Freeze or fraud alert on your credit file – it will need to be removed before you place the order.

You also might not qualify if you fail their criminal history check. The application process usually takes a week.

Step Three : Make Sure Your Office is Set-Up

Your home office should be properly equipped for the call-center job. It needs a quiet, distraction-free space where you can work comfortably, without a lot of background noise like children, barking dogs, traffic, doorbells, TVs, and radios.

As far as technical requirements are concerned, you need a corded USB headset that is compatible with your computer. 

They have minimum computer requirements with respect to your internet connection, the internet upload and download speed, processor, and operating system requirements.

And your computer needs to be updated with the latest anti-virus software.

WORKING AS A LIVEOPS INDEPENDENT CONTRACTOR


Their agents consist of writers, parents, students, caretakers, military spouses as well as adventurers. If you are a student, then here is an awesome way to earn whilst you are still studying.

As a Liveops independent contractor, the company provides you with a team that you can connect with for support. They also offer ongoing training and certification to keep you ahead in the game. 

What is the Liveops Nation?

It's a community of thousands of self-employed independent Agent contractors providing virtual services to Liveops and its clients. 

They have forums to help members share tips, encourage one another, and compete in social media challenges. 

The company also has regular roadshows to allow members to connect with each other.

HOW TO INCREASE YOUR CHANCES OF LANDING REMOTE-JOBS OPPORTUNITIES?


As you have seen, some of the requirements of the job are that you should have some work experience to be a suitable candidate.

But that is not the only thing that these sort of companies look at when hiring. I learned on the CNBC.com site that one of the ways in which you can boost your chances of landing a remote job is to make sure that your resume, cover letter, and LinkedIn profile all highlight skills that employers are looking for.

Such skills include : 

  • being able to work independently,
  • comfort with technology and troubleshooting,
  • time and task management, and
  • communicating through e-mail, phone, and instant messages.

They have various sectors in which call center agents can work. 

They are  :

Most of these opportunities have minimum skills and time requirements.

For instance, like with the healthcare call-center support jobs, they recommend 20+ hours per week for this type of job. In addition, it's best suited for agents comfortable displaying empathy with patients and providing support to callers on prescription medication.

How much can you earn as a Liveops Virtual agent?

HOW MUCH CAN YOU EARN AS A LIVEOPS CALL CENTER AGENT?


As a Liveops call center agent, you can schedule when you want to work. You can schedule your availability in blocks as small as 30minutes. 

The amount of money you make depends on your performance and the volume of service you provide and the type of program you choose.

Their basic rate is between 25 cents and 31 cents per minute of talk time. These rates are set by Liveops clients. In addition, some clients may add a commission. In other cases, you only get paid a commission, by recommending an upsell or add-on to a customer.

***Note : when they say that you get paid for talk-time it means the exact amount of time you spend with a client. If you block out a full 3 hours of your day, and you only spent 20 minutes talking to a client, you will only be compensated for that 20 minutes.

You do not get paid for certification or product knowledge that you attain. However, according to LiveOps the more certification you complete, the more earning opportunities you can get.

The main positive things that folks highlighted about working as an independent contractor for the company were :

  • flexible hours, ability to create own schedule
  • good support

The negative things that were most common are :

  • Call volume is not high
  • Pay only per-talk time
  • You have to bid to get work-time
  • Management constantly changes

Is Liveops really worth your while or is it a scam? Before I share my verdict, let's take a look at the pros and cons of this opportunity.

WHAT I LIKE ABOUT LIVEOPS


They have jobs across various categories.

They have a community forum.

The company responds to its agents' queries and complaints.

WHAT I DO NOT LIKE ABOUT LIVEOPS


The training is unpaid.

Need to have skills and experience for a specific job.

They do a background check which some folks might not be comfortable with.

Call-center agent opportunities are only available to United States citizens.

In some cases, you only get paid for selling add-on products.

This is not a passive income-earning opportunity.

IS LIVEOPS A SCAM? MY PERSONAL OPINION


Is Liveops legit?

Liveops is not a scam. They are a real company and there is positive feedback from real users.

The major drawback is that the job opportunities are restricted to within the United States.

Is Liveops for you?

If you like the idea of getting paid as a call-center agent and do not mind interacting with customers on a regular basis, then perhaps LiveOps might be for you. Needless to say, that you need to have relationship-skills to do the job. 

I think that it's misleading when LiveOps states that "you are getting started with your own business."

At the end of the day, Liveops gives you an opportunity to work-from-home. But it's still a job. One where you will not be receiving any benefits like a regular job. One where you might not be guaranteed a set pay at the end of the month. And one where you will be ultimately trading your time for money.

If that is cool with you, then give Liveops a go!

If on the other hand, you like to work-from-home and put your precious time into building your own online business, then read further on.
