What is ClearUnited?
It's an MLM(or multi-level-marketing) company that focuses on the telecommunication industry.
Michael Proper is the founder of ClearUnited. According to his LinkedIn profile, he was involved in start-ups and growing business for over 2 decades.
Prior to Clearunited, he worked with various IT companies and launch Jive Communications. This company was acquired by the Aurea Family of Companies for a reported sum of $462 million.
Coming back to Clearunited, their headquarters are based in Salt Lake City, USA.
The countries in which their products are not marketed or sold are Argentina, Cuba, Iran, Iraq, Lebanon, Libya, Myanmar/Burma, North Korea, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, Ukraine, and Yemen.
The ClearUnited Products - The Flagship Product- the ClearPhone
It's marketed as a phone that makes your digital life easier. As compared to your normal handheld device the ClearPhone,"sets you free: No ads, no viruses, malware, no trackers. No unwanted content."
According to the website, the hardware is made by the same manufacturers who produced other top brands that we come to use and love.
But it's the operating system namely the ClearOS Mobile, that is marketed as the key attraction to the product.
Some of the features that come pre-built in the phone are,
- bulletproof identity,
- blocks unwanted ads and allows access to only childproof sites,
- a browser that protects your private data from 3rd-party access, and
- an app that helps you learn about medical conditions that you can treat without having to visit your doctor.
They have a range of these ClearPhones.
As a member of the Clearunited network, you can earn commissions from getting people to either purchase the phone outright or take out a subscription.
The cost for the subscription are :
- ClearPhone 220 : $50 USD/Mnt
- ClearPhone 420 : $100 USD/Mnt
- ClearPhone 620 : $150 USD/Mnt
According to the official ClearUnited website, you can only cancel a subscription after 4 months. Should you decide to cancel at any time, then the fee is equivalent to 2 months of the subscription charge.
What happens once you cut the subscription? Does the phone become a piece of technology that lies around or are still some of the features active?
It's hard to say at this moment, as it's not made clear on the website.
How do you make money with Clearunited?
Let's take a look.
How Can You Make Money With ClearUnited?
You can earn ClearRewards when family or friends whom you refer make purchases, using your referral code.
All the rewards will be credited to your ClearPay account. You then have the option of either converting into cash or any other crypto asset like Bitcoin.
The ClearUnited Compensation Plan- The Usual Recruiting Game
The key requirement to become an active affiliate is to make 3 sales. You can either sell the phones outright to your prospects or they can choose to take out a subscription.
Once you achieve the minimum target, you can then ascend the various ranks of the company and earn more commissions as your downline grows.
Unlike most of the other MLM's that I have reviewed such as Zyia Active, Plexus Worldwide, and Prime My Body this one's comp.plan is not based on PV(Personal Volume). Rather, it's just on the number of subscriptions that you make.
There are eight ranking levels within the company. Take a look at how many purchases or subscriptions you have to make in order to qualify at that level.
Level One : Qualifyer - You join the company
Level Two : Drop - sign-up 3 ClearPhone customers
Level Three : Rain - Sign-up 9 ClearPhone Customers
Level Four : Shower - Sign-up 27 ClearPhone Customers
Level Five : Snow - Sign-up 81 ClearPhone Customers
Level Six : Storm : Sign-up 243 ClearPhone Customers
Level Seven : Lightning : Sign-up 729 Customers
Level Eight : Thunder : Sign-up 2187 Customers
As your downline grows, you can earn a percentage of their sales. This is via a uni-level compensation structure.
Let's say that you are on the Drop Level, and you got 3 active members. Then you qualify to receive a 10% commission on this first level.
If you advance to the Rain level and have your 9 active members, then you qualify to earn on two levels deep at 10% on each level.
The pay structure continues like this up to 7 levels down.
It's pretty much straightforward up to this point.
But now it gets a bit unclear.
There is another section within their compensation structure called "Paid Drops."
ClearUnited defines a drop as “a minimum of 3 total paid ClearPhone customers fractal of three circle members with a NPS Score of 7+”.
To work out the NPS(or net promoter score), the company conducts a survey of how likely ClearUnited members are to recommend the business on a scale of 1-10.
Though they assign groupings to the ranks, it remains unclear as to how the drops are paid.
- Drop ranked members receive one paid drop
- Rain ranked members receive ten paid drops
- Shower ranked members receive twenty paid drops
- Snow ranked members receive fifty paid drops
- Storm ranked members receive one hundred paid drops
- Lightning ranked members receive two hundred and fifty paid drops
- Thunder ranked members receive five hundred paid drops
The ClearUnited Shared Pools
The company allocates a percentage of the global commissionable volume to fund these pools.
However, here too, just like with the paid drops, they do not elaborate on how the pools are paid out.
There are also no income disclosures or success stories anywhere on the official site of ClearUnited Members.
ClearUnited Customer Complaints or Compliments
Are people happy with using the ClearPhone?
The site does not have any product testimonies.
The ClearUnited FaceBook page has a member base of 1,900 people.

What I Like About The ClearUnited MLM
1. They have a good vision. The main idea is to give more power and control to the customer on a product that is part of their everyday lives.
What I Do Not Like About ClearUnited
1. No income disclosure. (It's not mandatory. Though it will give one a clearer picture of what the average earnings are across various ranks within the company).
2. The products are expensive.
3. Compensation plan is not detailed and thorough.
4.Have to wait 3 months for your phone to arrive.
Can You Grow Your ClearUnited MLM Business If you Are A Newbie?
It might sound exciting initially that you are going to be promoting a phone which according to the founders of Clearunited, is a cut above the rest in terms of security and privacy.
But let's talk about the actual growth of your business. After all, there are only so many family and friends that you can introduce to the ClearUnited Network.
What's your next move, after you are all done with 'local marketing?'
As a complete newbie to the MLM business, does this company offer you training and tools to further help you grow your business?
I could not find any training modules or packages that come along with your membership fee.
In fact, according to their terms and conditions, they are yet to roll out a marketing kit to its members....
Since the marketing kit will only be available in the future, the next free and obvious choice would be to use social media to gather leads and grow your business.
And whilst we are talking about growing your MLM business here are some interesting issues that the AARP study raised.
According to the AARP study
- 91 % joined an MLM to make money either by selling or recruiting,
- 43 % joined to get product discounts
- 9 % was only to get just discounts
As for making a profit or loss :
- (47%) of MLM participants reported that they lost money.
- (27%) MLM participants reported that they broke even (made no money).
- (25%) MLM participants reported making a profit.
And finally, the three most common reasons as to why people leave the MLM industry, is (1) they find it awkward to pitch to family and friends, (2)not making as much money as expected, and (3) not liking to sell all the time
By the way, this report was published in 2018. I still think that it holds merit in today's day and age.

Is ClearUnited Legit?
I think that ClearUnited is a legitimate company. The owner shows transparency and is a successful businessman.
However, this is his first venture into the MLM world. The company does not reveal full details on how members can commissions.
As for the product itself, it's a brilliant idea. However, I think that it can a challenge to get folks to change from the brands that they are already accustomed to.
Lastly, they offer little marketing support to help members take their businesses to the next level.
